The webinar will be an opportunity to understand the fundamental role of the professional figure of the Registrar within the complex mechanism of the management of collections and the organization of thermal exhibitions.

The main activities and competences of the Registrar will be clarified, highlighting its role as a link between the other professional figures involved in the organisation of the exhibitions: from curators to architects, insurers, restorers, transporters.

Interventi

Rebecca Romere, President of Registrarte, will introduce the profession of registrar and present the Registrarte Association since its inception in 2002, explaining the key role it has played in the success of the profession in our country, a profession born in Anglo-Saxon countries and now widespread in most European and international museum institutions.

Anna Chiara Ferrero, the training contact person for the Board of Directors of the Registrarte Association, will deepen the Registrar’s skills in organising and supervising the movement of works of art, explaining the different functions of the Registrar of permanent collections and the Registrar of temporary exhibitions.

Giulia Zanasi, Head and Head of the Office of Temporary Exhibitions at the Reggia di Venaria, will tell us about his experience in organising and setting up an exhibition in the exhibition spaces of the Reggia di Venaria and will explain the management of the loan practice and all the numerous skills of the Registrar during the different stages of setting up a temporary exhibition.

Sandra Vazquez Perez, a restorer specialising in the documentation of works during museum installations, will analyse the role of the restorer-courier and his/her relationship with the registrars in organising exhibitions, drafting condition reports, supervising and indicating packaging methods, as well as a reference to the care of the works during their stay at temporary art exhibitions.
