Restoration report (11/2013) on the work carried out on the painting depicting the portrait of Aldus of Manutius (disambiguation) (Unknown).

The work ‘Aldo Manuzio’ by an unknown artist is a painting on canvas from around 1620 that is kept at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan.

Restorer Pinin Brambilla Barcilon restored the work in 2013.

The painting had an old and very yellowed painting.

The background and hat of the character had been redone in previous restorations.

The restorer removed some remakes that were no longer suitable for preservation and that covered parts of the original painting.

He did a selective and gradual cleaning.
